VI SUMMARY In this research, the effects of 14-17 years old adolescents' music preference (arabesque, heavy maden, classic music), sex, age, parental income, educational background and occupation on their depression and aggres sion levels were investigated. The sample of this research is comprised of 1079 stu dents who were chosen randomly from three different public high schools in Ankara. The veri have been collected by two questionnaires named bey "Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scate" (Oskay 1990), and "Aggression Inventory" (Kocatürk 1982), and "Personal Data Sheet" developed by the researcher. In the data analysis means and ölçün deviations have been found and by using the Analysis of Variance the differences between groups have been calculated.
